Sharon S. (Woodard) Pettie

July 26, 1941 ~ October 12, 2018 (age 77)

Sharon Sue Pettie, 77, of Union City, OH, entered her eternal life, taking Jesus by the hand and going to her special prepared place in heaven, Friday evening, October 12, 2018. She was born July 26, 1941 in Jay County, IN the daughter of Lester and Hanora (Haley) Woodard.

She worked various places of employment in the area, however, Sharon’s family was blessed to have her devote her life’s work as a loving, caring homemaker. Her family was very special to her. She had also worked in ministry as the Calvary Assembly of God’s Office Administrator for many years.

Sharon leaves to cherish her memory a loving husband of 54 years, Alfred “Sonny” Pettie; two sons, Michael Allen Hill (Karen) of Union City, OH and Timothy Ray Pettie of West Carrolton, OH; two brothers, Albert Woodard (Marion) of Georgetown, KY and Robert Woodard of Fountain City, IN; four grandchildren, Leslie Hill-West (Ivan) of Richmond, IN, Todd Hill (Lacey) of Union City, IN, Ashley Nottingham (Mark) of Ringgold, GA and Michael Hill of Union City, OH; nine great grandchildren, Stella West, Jordan, Gabby, Enoch, Eden, Israel and Hannah Nottingham, and, Rylin and Elias Hill. She was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Edward Junior Hill; a daughter-in-law, Rosie Hill; a grandson, Matthew Allen; and a brother, Lester Woodard.

A service to celebrate Sharon’s reception in heaven will be 11:00 a.m. Thursday, October 18, 2018 at Calvary Assembly of God, 720 N. Plum St. Union City, IN 47390, with Pastor Brian Jenkins. Burial will follow at Hopewell Cemetery of Farmland, IN. Family and friends may gather to share and remember from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, October 17, 2018, at the church. Memorial contributions may be made to Calvary Assembly of God Building Fund. Envelopes will be provided. Wilson Shook Funeral Home, Fraze Brooks Memorial Chapel has been entrusted with arrangements.
