Laura Elizabeth “Betty” Hiatt, 86, of Farmland, IN passed away late Sunday evening, June 10, 2018 at Parker Health and Rehabilitation Center of Parker City, IN. She was born September 26, 1931 in Farmland, IN the daughter of Joseph C. and Ethel (Bales) Dull. She was a graduate of Farmland High School.
Betty was primarily a homemaker, but had worked at Anchor Hocking of Winchester, Armstrong Corp. of Dunkirk, Tri Joes of Farmland and Pizza King of Muncie. She practiced her faith and was a member of the Farmland Friends church. She loved her family and enjoyed laughing and having good times.
She leaves to cherish her memory a loving husband, Gene; four sons, James Eugene Hiatt (wife, Darcy) of Wabash, IN, Randall Joe Hiatt (wife, Audrey) of McKenzie, TN, David Allen Hiatt (wife, Angela) of Yelm, WA and Danny Wayne Hiatt (wife, Karen) of Farmland, IN; two daughters, Rebecca Lynn Keener (husband, Rusty) of Saratoga, IN and Jennifer Kay Quire (husband, Tony) of Hartford City, IN; twelve grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; and one great-great grandson. She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Charles and Howard; and three sisters, Clarabell, Eunice and Sylvia; and a great granddaughter.
A service to celebrate Betty’s life will be 2 p.m. Friday, June 15, 2018 at Wilson Shook Funeral Home, Thornburg Memorial Chapel of Parker City, IN. Burial will follow at Union Cemetery of Windsor, IN. Family and friends may gather to share and remember from 12 noon to service time on Friday, at the funeral home.
