Jahma Joyce McGuire, 89, of Parker City, IN passed away Thursday evening, March 22, 2018 at Parker Health and Rehabilitation Center of Parker City, IN. She was born June 1, 1928 in Cowen, Indiana the daughter of Lee and Clarice (Finley) Burton.
Jahma retired as a bookkeeper with Muncie Gear and later work with Marsh Supermarkets. She was a member of Parker United Methodist Church where she had sung in the choir.
She leaves to cherish her memory a loving husband, Wayne; a son, James Michael Gibson (wife, Daina) of Atlanta, GA; two daughters, Vicki Croke of Sarasota, FL and Jane Costello (husband, Alan) of St. Louis, MO; two sisters, Pat Heath and Dixie Elsesser (husband, Jack), all of Muncie, IN.; seven grandchildren, Jaime, Ryan, Terry, Missy, Justin, Mallory and Kim; and nine great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; and 5 sisters, Peggy, Betty, Jo, Ann and Dana.
A service to celebrate Jahma’s life will be 1 p.m. Monday, March 26, 2018 at Wilson Shook Funeral Home, Thornburg Memorial Chapel of Parker City, IN. Family and friends may gather to share and remember from 11 a.m. to service time. Memorial contributions may be made to Alzheimer’s Association. Envelopes will be provided at the funeral home.
