Glenn Arlen Griffey, 52, of Modoc, IN passed away unexpectedly, early Thursday morning, March 8, 2018 at his residence. He was born April 15, 1965 in Muncie, IN the son of Ralph and Bonnie A. (Heflin) Griffey. He was a 1984 graduate of Union High School of Modoc.
Glenn was a truck driver for 31 years, working as owner operator of Griffey Trucking of Modoc, IN. He was a member Holiday Rambler Camping Club. He enjoyed spending his leisure time enjoying campfires, coffee and conversation. He never met a stranger. He was a great family man, husband, father, son and brother.
He leaves to cherish his memory a loving wife of 22 years, Cristee Lynn (Norman) Griffey; three children, Taylor Slusher, Hannah Griffey and Grant Griffey, all of Modoc, IN; mother, Bonnie; brothers, Dean Griffey (wife, Ann) of McMinnville, TN and Tom Griffey of Modoc, IN; a sister, Tina Phelps (husband, Gerald) of New Castle, IN; mother-in-law, Donna Shore (husband, Russell); nieces and nephews, Ethan, Bridgitte, Jack, Hali, Erin, Ricky, Caleb, J.C., Nick, Kaleigh, Michelle, Brittany, Terei, Colten and Brooklyn; several brothers in law and sisters in law. He was preceded in death by his father, Ralph Griffey.
A service to celebrate Glenn’s life will be 11 am Monday, March 12, 2018 at Wilson Shook Funeral Home, Thornburg Chapel of Parker City, IN. Cremation will follow.
