Andrew James Thornburg, 48, passed on to his next galaxy on November 19, 2018. Andy was born in Winchester, IN in 1970, and was the son of Dennis and Jerrillyn Thornburg. He lived most of his life in Winchester, though he moved to northern Indiana for a short time and then returned and lived his remaining years in Richmond, IN.
Andy graduated from Winchester Community High School and attended Ball State University. He worked in various industries prior to an auto accident that resulted in a Traumatic Brain Injury.
Those who survive and will miss Andy include his daughter, Karinsa Thornburg; his mom and step-dad, Jerrillyn and Russ Ozbun; a sister, Amiee Ellis; special nephews, Trevor and Dylan Lindsey; his dad and step-mom, Dennis and Beth Thornburg; grandfather, Howard Thornburg; half-brother, Caleb Thornburg; half-sisters, Kelsey Smith and Shannon Thornburg; step-brothers, Brian and Jason Ozbun; uncles Dan Thornburg, Tom “TJ” James, Bane Shockley; aunts, Diane Hartman and Jennifer Chadwick; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his grandmas Ruth Baker, Wilsie Thornburg and Barbra Shockley; Papa, Dallas James; and grandpa, Bud Shockley.

A service to celebrate Andy’s life will be 12:30 p.m. Wednesday, November 28, 2018 at Wilson Shook Funeral Home, Thornburg Memorial Chapel of Parker City, IN. Burial will follow at Hopewell Cemetery of Farmland, IN. Family and friends may gather to share and remember from 10:30 a.m. to service time on Wednesday, at the funeral home.
