Thomas “Bud” Terrell Sickels, 89, of Winchester, IN passed away peacefully at his home, with family by his side, Tuesday morning, January 23, 2018. He was born August 15, 1928 in Randolph County, IN the son of Charles Marshall and Ethel Blanche (Bales) Sickels.

Bud’s family is celebrating his wonderful life. He was a lifelong dairy farmer and resident of Randolph County. Most people would remember Bud as a hardworking, greatly respected family man, who always had a positive outlook on life. He was a successful DeKalb dealer for 35 years.

Bud took great pleasure in going to all his grandchildren and great grandchildren’s activities. He enjoyed traveling to see agriculture in other countries and throughout the United States. He also enjoyed horse pulls, 4-H fairs and rodeos.

He found a connection to God daily, seeing His hand in creation as he farmed and cared for livestock.

Bud said, “It’s been a good life. I’ve enjoyed everything I’ve done and wouldn’t change a thing.”

Bud’s work here is done. He now celebrates his greatest victory in heaven with his Savior, Jesus Christ.

He leaves to cherish his memory a loving wife of 68 years, Betty (Bosworth) Sickels; a son, Ned Sickels (wife, Jodi) of Winchester, IN; three daughters, Sondra Myers (husband, John) of Winchester, IN, Sharon Seerley (husband, Steve) of Modoc, IN and Nita Short (husband, Larry) of Winchester, IN; eleven grandchildren, Jason Myers, Nicole Myers, Lucas Myers (wife, Daisy), Wiley Buhs (husband, Adam), Gabe Sickels (wife, Shayla), Camille Gruesbeck (husband, Brad), Liza Seerley (husband, Donald), Jenny Ledbetter (husband, John), Kainan Short (wife, Thursa), Cybill Schwieterman (husband, Scott) and Shantel Short; and 18 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; and two brothers, Robert and Gene Sickels.

A service to celebrate Bud’s life will be 4 p.m. Sunday, January 28, 2018 at New Liberty Christian Church 605 W. 700 S. Lynn, IN 47355. Burial will follow at New Liberty Cemetery of Lynn, IN.
