Edward L. Shaw 67, passed away during the early morning hours, Monday, January 8, 2018 at his son’s home, with family by his side, in Las Vegas, NV. He was born in Winchester, IN on September 1, 1949, the son of Merle and Helen Shaw. He was a 1967 graduate of Monroe Central High School.

Following graduate, he honorably and proudly served in the Marine Corps during the Vietnam War. He returned home to marry the one and only love of his life, Debbie (Young) Shaw. They had two children and resided in Selma, IN.

Ed retired in 2006 after more than 20 years as Production Manager with L.J. Stone Co. The L.J. Stone Co. was his second family. He loved his career and all the friends he worked with. Ed was a talented carpenter, and loved woodworking. One of his other passions included raising miniature donkeys, and had a registered ‘Ranch grASS ACRES’. Ed was a proud member of Farmland American Legion Post 353.

He leaves to cherish his memory a sister, Diane Cox; three children, Bryan Shaw (wife, Jill and daughters, Ella and Amelia); two daughters, Kristy Shaw and Kathy Felix (husband, Shawn; and daughters, Audrey Felix and Alicia Newton (husband, Caleb and son, Damon and baby daughter, Avery); nephews and nieces, Seth, Ezra and Abby Shaw; and other loved family members and friends. He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 30 years, Debbie; a sister, Dee Etta Ridgeway; and a brother, Max Shaw.

A service to celebrate Ed’s life will be 10 am Wednesday, January 17, 2018 at Wilson Shook Funeral Home, Thornburg Memorial Chapel of Parker City, IN. Burial will follow in Gardens of Memory Cemetery of Muncie, IN. Family and friends may gather to share and remember from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday, January 16th at the funeral home.
