Virgil David Steele “Butch”, 73, of Farmland, IN passed away early Saturday morning, December 16, 2017 at IU Health, Ball Memorial Hospital of Muncie, IN. He was born August 29, 1944 in Greenville, OH the son of Eugene Vermont and Chrystal Vontella (Yockey) Steele.

Virgil was a lifelong owner and operator truck driver. His love for his work allowed him to continue working up until his death. He was a loving, kind and generous man to all.

He leaves to cherish his memory a loving wife, Jane; three sons, Virgil David Steele, Jr. (wife, Becky) of Muncie, IN, Chad Allen Steele (Tina) of West Bend, WI and Brandon Cass (wife, Michelle) of Noblesville, IN; A daughter, Leslie Wilson (husband, Darin) of Modoc, IN; three sisters, Vondalee Steele of Muncie, IN, Sue Fosco of Sun City, CA and Judith Polson of Clarksville, TN; a sister-in-law, Cheryl Steele of Muncie, IN; six grandchildren, Leah, Deven and Drew Steele, Seth and Lane Wilson and Cooper Cass; two great grandchildren, Hezron and Chevelle; and several nieces and nephews.

A service to celebrate Virgil’s life will be 10 am Thursday, December 21, 2017 at Thornburg Memorial Chapel of Parker City, IN. Burial will follow in Union Cemetery of Windsor, IN. Family and friends may gather to share and remember from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Wednesday, December 20th at the funeral home. Online condolences may be expressed at www.wilsonshookfuneralhomes.com.

Thinking of you Dave & Your Family at this time. Our heart's our heavy and we pray for peace for you. May you always keep the fondest memories of your Dad closet too your Heart!
